Mia Blanchett has played a pivotal role in driving purposeful change within HGA and the building industry for over 30 years. She has held multiple leadership roles throughout her career with HGA, including Public Market Sector Leader, member of the Board of Directors and in January 2024 became HGA’s CEO. Guided by a blend of empathy, humility, and confidence, her leadership has elevated HGA’s national prominence while fostering an inclusive culture.

As a practitioner, Mia believes in the power of public architecture to shape the everyday lives of people as they come together to work, play, serve, and learn. As Principal and Public Market Sector Leader, she significantly expanded the firm’s design footprint by collaborating with high-impact teams and forging partnerships with government and public agencies to deliver complex, secure, and sustainable buildings.

Among her notable projects are the Minnesota State Capitol restoration; GSA’s B.H. Whipple Federal Building, modernizations for the Arthur J. Altmeyer and the F. Edward Hebert federal buildings; and libraries in Columbia Heights, Brooklyn Park, and Shoreview, Minnesota. Other project include Surly Brewing, multiple projects for the General Mills World Headquarters, and current work on the Sherwin-Williams Global Headquarters and R&D Center in Cleveland, OH. Her work has garnered numerous national and state awards and has been featured in The New York TimesFast Company, and Star Tribune.
