Los Angeles
Los Angeles is a city driven by creativity, ambition, and constant evolution and our studio reflects that energy. Our multidisciplinary team of architects, interior designers, engineers, and strategists partners with clients to create places that shape culture, advance learning, support health, and strengthen communities across Southern California. From award-winning higher education and healthcare environments to workplace campuses, civic spaces, and cultural destinations, we design with purpose, curiosity, and a deep understanding of how people experience space. Rooted in collaboration and inspired by the diversity of Los Angeles, we create thoughtful, resilient design solutions that respond to the needs of today while anticipating what’s next.

Market Spotlight
Healthcare Perspectives
This month’s Market Spotlight asks a simple question with complex answers: “What challenge in your market excites you most right now?” Inspired by our HGA Quick Takes series, we invited multiple voices from across our LA Healthcare team to respond, revealing different perspectives on evolving client needs, industry shifts, and the opportunities shaping the future of their market.
Project in Focus
SDSO Jacobs Music Center Featured at AIA26
At AIA26 in San Diego, HGA joined fellow architects, designers, and industry leaders from across the country to exchange ideas on the future of the built environment. As part of the conference programming, AIA featured a video spotlighting HGA’s renovation of the San Diego Symphony Jacobs Music Center, and HGA team members led project tours that gave attendees a closer look at the design, preservation, and technical coordination behind the transformation.
People & Office Culture
Creativity, Community, and Celebration
The LA office has been buzzing with activity — from Euclid Gallery’s artist talk and exhibition with Bruce Johnson to Employee Appreciation Month celebrations, including an all-staff luncheon with CEO Mia Blanchett, sweet treat breaks for the team, and mobile in-office massages. The team also celebrated Sr. HR Manager Kim James as this year’s Los Angeles Founders’ Award winner, a peer-selected recognition honoring the lasting impact, leadership, and spirit she brings to HGA and the broader office community.
Community Impact
Inspiring the Next Generation
The LA office recently joined ACLA Design x Diversity Day, spending the day with K–12 students exploring architecture, creativity, and the built environment through hands-on activities and mentorship. At HGA’s booth, students stepped into the role of designer, creating their own theatre concepts through an interactive planning exercise focused on collaboration, storytelling, and problem-solving. The event was a fun and inspiring way to introduce young students to design careers while reinforcing HGA’s commitment to investing in future generations.

A Studio Built on Curiosity
That same spirit carries into how we connect as a team. We host staff tours across our projects, head out on excursions to SoCal landmarks, gather for game nights in the office, celebrate birthdays, milestones, and Dodgers wins during baseball season. Our monthly Wine & Design program brings people together for creative discussions, art talks, hands-on activities, and cross-disciplinary conversations that help keep our studio connected and fun to be part of.
