Krista is an electrical engineer with more than 25 years’ experience specializing in healthcare electrical design. She understands how the electrical system must support the mechanical systems, life-safety systems, emergency power systems, medical technology and diverse spaces within a single building while taking into consideration the architecture and interiors of the space they serve. Krista also has extensive experience with infrastructure upgrades and facility assessments and applies her knowledge of codes to real world design. She is also a contributing IdeaXchange Xpert for EC&M (Electrical Construction & Maintenance). Krista is a member of ASHE (American Society for Healthcare Engineering). She currently serves on the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 70 National Technical Committee-Code-Making Panel 13, which serves as the principal consensus body responsible for developing and regularly updating the NEC (National Electrical Code) articles pertaining to emergency power systems. She is also a member of the Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) guidelines committee.
