Meredith Hayes Gordon Named HGA Science + Technology Market Sector Leader

National interdisciplinary design firm HGA is pleased to announce that Science + Technology Principal Meredith Hayes Gordon, AIA, LEED AP, has been named Science + Technology Market Sector LeaderIn this leadership role, Hayes Gordon provides strategic direction for HGA’s national Science + Technology sector. She ensures that the team of talented planners, designers, and architects are equipped with resources and tools to deliver optimal design solutions that unify interdisciplinary teams, advance research, and foster discovery for clients throughout the country. 

Hayes Gordon succeeds Chris Martin, AIA, LEED AP, who has successfully led the Science + Technology Market Sector since 2020. 

“Meredith is poised to continue and grow a legacy honed over the past three decades, leading an established national team in creating inspiring and sustainable spaces where our clients can thrive and deliver impactful work,” Martin said. 

Although Martin, one of the founding partners of Wilson Architects (acquired by HGA in 2018), is stepping away from his role as Market Sector Leader, he will continue to serve as a Science + Technology Principal, working closely with clients nationwide. 

With more than 20 years of experience in architecture, design, and project management, Hayes Gordon has held multiple leadership roles since joining HGA in 2015. Known for her inclusive and forward-thinking approach, she is highly regarded for her ability to listen and guide teams to deliver unique design solutions that align with the vision and needs of diverse project stakeholders.

Hayes Gordon’s recent and current project work includes the Institute for Integrative & Innovative Research (I3R) at the University of Arkansas, the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building at Case Western Reserve University, and the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain at the University of Minnesota.

Hayes Gordon has a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Minnesota. She received the national AIA Young Architects Award in 2020 and has served as both a Board member and President of AIA Minnesota, as well as the Minnesota Architectural Foundation, and currently serves on HGA’s Board of Directors.
