HGA Structural Work Behind New Scoreboard for the Minnesota Twins

The Minnesota Twins opened their season at Target Field on Friday, April 7th. Fans were entertained by a key new feature that our firm helped develop.

A massive, edgeless, high-definition scoreboard now overlooks the left field stand. Take the video tour above, courtesy of Dimensional Innovations.

At 178-feet wide, the scoreboard is 76% larger than before. HGA provided important coordination on the $30 million off-season visual renovation, working with Walter P Moore, Daktronics, and Dimensional Innovations. The screen was fabricated in Redwood Falls, MN and Brookings, SD.

Through a design build partnership with Mortenson, an HGA team provided structural updates for the replacement of the main video screen and auxiliary scoreboards, as well as the recladding. We also partnered with the Twins on integrating their new branding logos on the back of the scoreboard. Learn more about the scoreboard project from Minnesota Public Radio here.

The coordination behind this year’s scoreboard is just one of many projects during our long-time partnership with the Minnesota Twins, starting in 2006 when HGA was hired as the local architect.
