US CONSULATE GENERAL - HYDERABAD, INDIA

Exemplifying the best of American Architecture

We have been working with design partner, RKA (formerly richard+bauer), on a number of new consulate compounds for U.S. Department of State Overseas Building Operation (OBO) under an existing IDIQ contract. HGA acts as the Associate Architect and RKA is the lead designer on all projects. This U.S. Consulate is being built on a site at the western edge of the Hyderabad financial and high-tech districts. This zone has been created by the government to promote the growth of the technology sector.

The project will serve all U.S. consulate functions within the region. It will be comprised of a multi-building compound, which will house an office building, three perimeter entry pavilions, a guard residence, utility building, recreation area and warehouse. HGA designed the Consular Access Pavilion, which which is a secure screening facility for visitors. This high performance building was designed to meet LEED Silver Certification.
