University of Dayton - Roger Glass Center for the Arts
Elevating the Arts on Campus
The Roger Glass Center for the Arts is an iconic building serving as a landmark example of the University of Dayton’s commitment to sustainability and the arts. The building elevates the arts on campus and provides greater connection with the Dayton community through concerts, dance, and theatre performances, and visual art exhibits featuring students, faculty, visiting artists, and community members.
In alignment with the University’s Catholic Marianist tradition, the building provides a lasting positive impact to the Dayton community achieved not only through the arts presented inside the building but also through design and construction of a sustainable facility that achieved a LEED Gold rating. Some of the design highlights that emphasize UD’s commitment to cultivating a sustainable urban campus include: energy savings from LED performance lighting, heat-recovery HVAC units, use of natural light, natural building materials, and more than quintupling the plantings on the building site.
