The Law Office, Edward P. Dudensing
Legal Care Filters Natural Light And Comfort On The Community
Founded in 2003, the law firm of Ed Dudensing positions itself as “elder abuse advocates,” focused on making a difference in the lives of families of victims and standing up to corporations responsible for the abuse.
With its move to the Ice Blocks development along the R Street corridor in midtown Sacramento, the firm sought a modern workplace that reflected the architectural character of surrounding renovated warehouses that have transformed a once-neglected area into a vibrant urban neighborhood featuring live, work, and retail spaces. HGA developed a program that defined function, configuration and preferred relationship of workspaces, including workstations, private offices, collaborative spaces, break spaces, conference rooms, and telephone rooms.
The open-plan workplace capitalizes on Ice Block 1’s existing industrial features with high ceilings, timber-framed beams and posts, exposed ductwork, and large windows that flood the interiors with natural light. Shared common spaces and café are grouped toward the center of the plan, with a variety of glass-front conference rooms and private offices along the periphery. Natural wood surfaces and neutral tones maintain the warehouse aesthetic.
