Highlighting Brand, Culture, and Vision in a Modern Workspace

HGA and Samsung came together to create a welcoming workspace that celebrates Samsung’s brand. Their new office operates as a combination of client services, engineering, and product support. Elements of hospitality design were interwoven into the space, providing the feeling of a sleek and modern home. The arrival experience was particularly important, with large LED screens to welcome clients and warm colors and materials to make guests and employees feel at home. The brand color can be found throughout the space, including the reception, board room and smaller conference rooms, and is offset by warm and bright wood accents. In addition, two small balconies beckon employees and visitors to enjoy the views. Custom environmental graphics were developed for conference room glazing and walls to further enhance the brand and celebrates the local topography and landmarks of the Olympic Region.

The 110 – seat open office space emphasizes circulation patterns, while drop ceilings enhance the acoustics. The open office allows access to natural light and views on all sides of their suite. Because Samsung has a particular standard for their office furniture, the workstations were relocated from their Redmond office and supplemented with new pieces, where necessary. The ancillary furniture complemented the social spaces. In addition, all kitchen appliances and A/V technology are Samsung products, further showing the breadth of the Samsung ecosystem. To allow for authenticate break time and to contain noise, the breakroom and gathering spaces are located away from the client-facing areas in the front of the office.

Security was also of utmost importance to the Bellevue office, including separating the Microsoft and Amazon servers and allowing the teams who serve each client to operate independently of one another. Samsung Bellevue is also home to engineers and technology experts who require secure lab space to test and repair equipment. The combination of hospitality-driven design and functionality culminates in both a beautiful office space where clients feel welcome and a working facility where the company can best serve their needs for the future.
