Hospitality Destination

This luxury hotel is one of the first projects of Rochester’s Destination Medical Center initiative.

The Legacy Fund 1 building has a substantial history. Hal Henderson, Principal for this project, started working on concepts, vision, and strategy back in the mid to late 1990’s. The project began as the Time Square project, but it never moved forward. Time Square was a larger project and included stores such as Nordstrom. The project was reconfigured, and many options and concepts were developed. The vision of the project that you are now seeing physically took shape about five years ago as an Embassy Suites with apartments on top. Over time, Embassy Suites concept changed to the high-end Hilton concept with apartments on top. Eventually the apartments were removed, leaving the building as a hotel and mixed-use facility.

The project you see today is developed from 20 years of conceptualizing, investment, and hard work designing a complicated mixed-use facility.
