Creating a Space for Locals to Gather

Revel was born from a desire to create a much-needed food and wine destination in South Alexandria. This 2,500 SF triangle-shaped space was previously set up as a wine shop, with industrial shelving and racks all around.

The design goal was to turn the space into an elegant and modern space, where locals could enjoy uncommon wine selections, exclusive craft beers, and a seasonal menu that celebrates local farmers and hardworking artisans.

An antique barn door, rustic gold wallcovering and metallic mosaics adorn the space. However, it’s the large bar in the center that is truly the heart of the space. This rectangular bar cuts through the center wall and is accessed on all sides, with plenty of seats for people to gather, drink, and share stories. The large bar is captured with a one of a kind 800 pound dome light fixture; this handmade hammered copper dome gives the patrons a feeling of coziness and togetherness, as the gather around the bar.
