Semiconductor Manufacturing Facility

PolarFab is a semiconductor company that designs and manufactures integrated circuits for data storage applications. HGA began master planning services PolarFab’s corporate site in 1995, eventually designing a structurally sophisticated 47,000-SF expansion, 265,000-SF wafer fabrication facility, and 450-car parking ramp.

The fabrication plant includes 40,000-SF of Class 10 clean room space, producing products on 6-inch and 8-inch wafers. A two-level sub-fab allows ready access to process tools in the clean room above. A utility-support system grid with ultra-pure liquid and gas piping is available on a second level below the clean room for ever-changing process tool configurations. This support system provides solvent, acid and general exhaust branch ductwork available as a grid below the entire clean room footprint.
