Physician Office Building and Cancer Center

Lean Exercises

A physician office building attached to a hospital, the original project included a developer. Due to extensive Lean exercises performed, the overall square footage decreased, making the final building affordable for the client without a third-party.

The new 160,000 SF Physician Office Building and 20,000 SF Cancer Center addition at Orange Regional Medical Center (ORMC) brings outpatient services to a four-year old inpatient facility. The Physician Office Building is designed to be flexible enough to allow specialty physician groups to grow as their specialty practice matures. With a Lean approach, the team led by HGA was able to reduce the building area by 15% from the predesign documents. The result of the lean process is a patient-focused facility that optimizes staff efficiency.

HGA partnered with Forum Studios on this project. Forum completed the exterior design, while HGA provided all medical planning and design of healthcare spaces.
