Marvin Windows

Bridging the Gap Between Nature and Work

For decades, Marvin Windows has been a staple in the community of Warroad, Minnesota – with many of its employees serving more than 30 years for the company. Under a new generation of family-run leadership, the company is seeing a need for change in its workplace. In 2017, Marvin engaged HGA to lead several on-going renovations focusing on human-centric design and well-being for their employees. The renovations include interior and exterior remodeling of Marvin’s existing headquarters in Warroad – making it a new destination for their clients and visitors. The workplace strategy was grounded in three areas of focus: The employee entry (Employee Hub); visitor experience/hospitality (Heritage Hub); and connection to community (Community Hub). To connect the three hubs, the design team incorporated the local Warroad River as a conceptual wayfinding element to lead employees and visitors through the space. This full-service project is being rolled out over multiple years to transform the workplace to support innovation and employee attraction/retention.
