Expanding Manufacturing Footprint and Planning for Flexibility

HGA is partnering with Graco to master plan and provide design services for a building addition on a recently acquired green field property adjacent to their existing Anoka facility. Tasked with ensuring optimal flexibility, the building and associated infrastructure allows Graco’s manufacturing processes to be reconfigured as needed in the future, and for the facility to accommodate potential further expansions.

The approximately 177,000 gross square foot addition will double their manufacturing footprint in Anoka, and will consist of expanded fabrication space, offices, testing labs, meeting spaces, cafeteria, restrooms, and building utility rooms. HGA’s multidisciplinary team provided a full breadth of services, including architecture and interior design, civil, landscape, structural, and MEP engineering.

Graco, a worldwide leader in fluid handling applications, is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, with multiple locations globally. Graco’s Lubrication Equipment Division (LED) is based in Anoka, Minnesota, with an existing manufacturing facility supported by R&D, engineering, marketing, and training functions. This division has experienced recent growth and plans to grow their manufacturing operations with a building expansion.
