A Roadmap for Growth

The master plan for the College of Engineering identified the amount and character of space needed to meet projected growth in research and teaching programs by the year 2020.

The nine-month study included 109 faculty within the College’s three Departments and two Divisions. The faculty were housed in 10 buildings (340,000 GSF) distributed along 1/3 of a mile along Cummington Street. The facilities were in varying states of condition and provided little room for program growth.

To identify the amount and character of space needed to meet the College’s goals, HGA worked with the Dean and three Department Chairs to confirm faculty and enrollment projections.
