Bill and Adele Jonas Center

A Community Building for a Community College

Nestled in a woodsy landscape, the Bill and Adele Jonas Center opens new possibilities for the College of Marin’s community gatherings.

A partnership with the Marin Rotary Club, this state-of-the-art facility is designed for special events, meetings, trainings, and more. The project breathes life into the campus and strengthens connections with the community.

The center’s design places a strong emphasis on inclusivity, featuring open pathways and gentle slopes that ensure effortless and comfortable movement for all. Sustainability is also at the heart of the project, with careful planning to maximize the use of direct sunlight as a natural source of warmth. Innovative shading elements have been installed to manage heat variations throughout the year.

The Center provides open and inviting indoor and outdoor spaces for any-sized gathering, allowing for beautiful views of the surrounding nature from nearly any location in the building. With flexible functionality and an airy, naturally flowing layout, the center is a magnet for campus life.

The complex accommodates large and small group meetings, events, and casual gatherings. A covered walkway, lined with a gabion basket wall, provides a seamless link between the main building’s kitchen and the separate catering kitchen, allowing for an easy upgrade in kitchen capacity when required by a larger, catered event.
