Adobe - East Tower

Taking Clients on a Virtual World Tour

Adobe’s existing space was 15 years old and a labyrinth of enclosed offices that was in need of updating. Adobe wanted to create an open, flexible work environment for their employees and turned to HGA to help.

One of the challenges designers face during the planning and design process, is that diagrams, drawings, floor plans and other 2D media can be difficult to convey and help visualize the design intent. By taking advantage of virtual reality tools, HGA was able to teleport the client into concepts early and allow them to walk through the virtual space to better understand layouts, adjacencies, workflows, space character, and finishes. The VR component helped the client to virtually explore the floorplate and enabled the client to comment on the architecture in real time with HGA and the GC.

The VR experience expedited the entire process, reducing schedules by achieving conclusions faster. Additionally, VR has been able to replace some in-person meetings with remote meetings or virtual walk-throughs via web portals, ultimately eliminating the challenges of assembling large client groups for review sessions and milestone decisions.

The result is a beautiful space that’s built for collaboration and celebrates Adobe’s unique work culture and values.
