1700 Pull Up
Upgrading the Dining Experience
HGA partnered with Rosetta Bond, 1700’s PullUp owner, to rebrand this property according to her vision. Rosetta, a BIPOC entrepreneur, was given this space by the owner of Tandem, a restaurant, that later turned into a food kitchen to provide thousands of meals to those in need in marginalized neighborhoods in Milwaukee during the COVID pandemic.
A new color scheme supplemented extensive historic wood and mosaic tile floor from the original construction in 1893. New banquette seating, light fixtures and ceiling fans also helped upgrade the space. The most significant change was a replacement of the existing bar top. The original top only overhung the face of the bar wall by a few inches and aligned with the foot rail below. The new extended top provides for a significantly more comfortable dining experience.
The back bar area was cleaned up by removing numerous non-historic elements. A custom stencil was created for the client’s logo, by HGA’s model shop, to provide for a bold branding moment.
