HGA is pleased to announce that Paula Verboomen, AIA, LEED AP, has been appointed Office Director, and Peter Balistrieri, AIA, LEED AP, has been appointed Practice Leader of the Public | Corporate Group in the Milwaukee Office, further positioning the office for continued growth in the Great Lakes region.

We look forward to working with them in these new leadership positions as we continue to advance our design services to meet evolving opportunities for our clients.”
As Office Director, Paula Verboomen will oversee daily operations and financial success of the 190-person Milwaukee Office in the Historic Third Ward, as well as implementing the office’s Long-Range Growth Plan.
Verboomen is Vice President and Design Principal with more than 20 years’ experience specializing in public, corporate, higher education, research and development, and healthcare design.
Among her noteworthy projects are the Milwaukee County Zoo Elephant Exhibit opening in May 2019, Aurora Health Center-84South ambulatory surgery center opening in summer 2019 in Greenfield, Wisconsin, Schreiber Foods Home Office and Global Technology Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and Discovery World at Pier Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
She is a founding Board Member of the ACE Mentor Program Greater Milwaukee, working with high school students interested in architecture, construction, and engineering careers; former board president of Wisconsin Architects Foundation (WAF); and has served as adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s School of Architecture & Urban Planning.
Verboomen has a Master of Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She joined HGA in 1998. She will continue as Design Principal in addition to Office Director.
As Practice Leader, Peter Balistrieri will manage new business opportunities, client relations, and team processes for the growing Public | Corporate Group serving leading clients throughout the Great Lakes region.
Balistrieri is an Associate Vice President and Principal with more than 20 years’ national and international experience specializing in corporate, government, and research & development architecture. His expertise includes strategic planning, design, project management, and construction administration.
Among his major projects are the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, Schreiber Foods Home Office and Global Technology Center, and multiple Technology and Innovation Centers for Kerry Group in Wisconsin, Ireland, Singapore, Brazil, and Russia.
Balistrieri has a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He joined HGA in 1998
