As a member of HGA’s national equity committee, she provides encouraging advice for women entering the profession. “Our voices are needed,” she said. “Women are providing a lot of value and your experience, talent, and insight will take this industry forward.”

Jennifer Ries is a senior medical planner and office director in our Los Angeles office, where she specializes in healthcare design. She also is a member of the national equity committee and shares the importance of equity. “Equity is important to the architecture industry, our clients, and the community at large,” she said. “There are ingrained systems, processes, biases, and habits that unintentionally create barriers to reaching the goal of a more equitable industry.”
