HGA architects Kimberly Sandbulte and Ginny Lackovic have been appointed to two leading historic preservation committees in Minnesota.
Kimberly Sandbulte has been appointed to the Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC). As a member of the Commission, she will oversee applications for preservation reviews, including historic variances, demolitions of historic resources, nominations of landmarks and historic districts, and other related topics. The Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission has served as a citizen advisory body to the Minneapolis City Council on historic preservation topics since 1972. She will serve a three-year term beginning February 5, 2019.
Sandbulte is a Project Architect and Project Manager with experience in a wide range of project types and sizes in the government, public, and healthcare sectors. She has particular interest in using modern technologies, such as laser scans and BIM, to perform condition assessments and documentation for historic preservation and renovation projects. Among her notable Twin Cities projects are the Minnesota State Capitol restoration, Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building renovation, and Hennepin County Medical Center Whittier Clinic.
Ginny Lackovic has been appointed to the Minnesota Historical Society’s Historic Resources Advisory Committee (HRAC). As a member of HRAC, Lackovic will provide policy and grant making guidance on funding distributed through the Minnesota Historical and Cultural Grants Program administered through the Minnesota Historical Society. Established by the Minnesota legislature in 2009, the HRAC consists of 13 members and two ex-officio members. Lackovic will serve a two-year term.
Lackovic is a Senior Project Architect and Historic Preservation Specialist focused on renovation, building forensics, construction, and preservation technology. Her notable Twin Cities historic preservation and restoration work includes the Minnesota State Capitol, the Orpheum Theatre, and the Pantages Theatre. She is past member of HRAC (2014 – 2017), and the current Chair of the Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission.
