HGA was awarded the Best Real Estate Project Award in the Medical category for Sutter Roseville Medical Center.

Sponsored by Sacramento Business Journal, the Best Real Estate Awards recognize high-impact projects in the Sacramento region in several categories. Sutter Roseville Medical Center won this year’s award in the Medical category for the 98,400-square-foot expansion that added 24 new intensive care unit beds and 34 new emergency beds to the hospital. With a total of 69 beds it is the largest emergency department in Sutter Health’s 24-hospital system.

The project was completed ahead of schedule in April 2020, in time for an expected rise in hospitalizations due to COVID-19. The success of the project hinged on integrated project delivery which allowed teams of engineers, designers, and contractors to work on site to help expedite decisions and processes.

“We were leveraging the fact that our project team—designers, engineers and contractors—was located on site in a building within view of the project,” said Denis Stroup, principal and healthcare practice group leader.
