
Zotec Partners is a leader in technology-enabled and data-driven healthcare revenue cycle management solutions to optimize financial experiences for providers and patients. The privately held company anticipates growth in the coming years and set out to create a new headquarters adjacent to its existing location — a first for the company to build specifically for their needs from the ground up. Situated on a 15-acre campus, the five-story, 120,000-square-foot contemporary office building includes a parking garage attached via a pedestrian bridge and each planned for future expansion.
After visiting a customer experience center for another client, Zotec engaged national interdisciplinary design firm HGA to complete the interior architecture and design. The core and shell of the building was designed by Ratio and featured softer, curved edges to represent Zotec’s process as flowing and ever-evolving. HGA represented this important aspect of the brand and also saw it as an opportunity to reinforce the same curvilinear feel for the interior design. A dramatic open stair connects all five floors and is interlaced with a colorful suspended sculpture that was commissioned for the building.
Zotec’s technology solutions are powerful tools for clients searching for transparency, simplicity, and ease of use. Within the new building, the notion of clarity is expressed architecturally through clean, sinuous forms, and gradients in materials, light, transparency and color. HGA’s design merges the energy and vibe of a modern tech office environment with Zotec’s eagerness to take the angst out of healthcare transactions, while also reflecting the intricacies of that marketplace. The primary goals were to create a space that fosters relationships, inspires innovation, and represents cutting-edge technology with sleek, modern materials, and sweeping, aspirational gestures of the brand, logo, and the building form. Integrated into the ceiling, soft, curved, linear lighting flows throughout the building providing subtle wayfinding for employees and guests. It also adds a dynamic texture of energy and movement when viewed from the outside through the floor-to-ceiling windows that wrap the structure.

Environmental Design
HGA was tasked to express the company’s brand throughout the building. Each floor varies through the use of unique colors and patterns that are further delineated for the individual departments — each with specific programming and special furniture. Bold colors meaningful to the brand were paired with more neutral architectural finishes to create a vibrant but overall balanced palette.
Raised lettering highlighting key words — Engage, Transform, Evolve, Connect — covers a full wall in an upper floor corridor, creatively reminding employees and visitors of the company’s bedrock values.

Amenities
As a sophisticated high-tech company located in the Midwest, attracting and retaining talent is a key to success. Named with a techie reference, the Byte Cafe on the first floor offers breakfast and lunch every day. The beautiful and fully equipped fitness center provides an easy opportunity for a physical and mental break during the day. A coffee shop on the second floor at the team member entrance features coffee and baked goods. The “elbow,” a central point at the apex of the building on each floor of the building, was fitted with gathering spaces, breakout rooms, kitchenettes and lounges encouraging individuals and whole teams to collaborate and socialize.
Technology
Showcasing the solutions offered by Zotec, the integrated technology throughout the building took on a very important role in the design. At the front entrance, a dramatic curved video wall behind the reception desk greets guests. To the left, a long, curved timeline wall depicts the company’s history and development, and includes an interactive display showing a map of client locations through the United States, and real-time visual of company operational milestones. In the sales and demonstration room, an impressive curved video wall can display presentations for internal teams or clients. The fourth and fifth floors are linked via a two-story video wall near the analytics departments. With this new headquarters, Zotec is now able to welcome prospective clients from across the country to showcase their scalable technologies, passionate people, and innovative methodologies.
HGA’s design is truly a representation of “The Zotec Way” — honoring the company’s core values of People, Passion, Perspective, Predictability, and Persistence — and allowing Zotec to continue adapting to industry changes and provide meaningful solutions for their clients.
