Florida State University (FSU) recently celebrated the groundbreaking of its Interdisciplinary Research & Commercialization Building (IRCB). Located on the FSU Southwest Campus in Tallahassee, the new facility will be home to recent faculty hires in chemistry, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, and physics and will accommodate the research needs of collaborative groups working in areas of energy, materials, light, and nanoscience.

Slated for completion in 2024, IRCB will promote collaboration, the catalyst for significant innovation and discovery, merging physically and virtually traditional academic and professional fields in a manner that encourages informal dialogue and spontaneous exchanges. This human-centered intellectual environment, which promotes integrated achievement, will be based on a research setting that is both flexible and adaptable, to easily accommodate changing paradigms in research methodologies.
