Event: ReConnect Rondo Summit in St. Paul

HGA is pleased to collaborate with ReConnectRondo and the Urban Land Institute Minnesota to bring to life concepts for a re-imagined land bridge addition to serve Rondo resident’s future – connecting a St. Paul community displaced since the 1960s.

ReConnectRondo invites community leaders and Rondo residents to a summit, “Imagining Rondo”, on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Wilder Foundation in St. Paul from 4:45 – 7:30 p.m.

This Summit is designed to transition from the “listen/learn” phase to a “leverage and lean-in” stage, according to Marvin Roger Anderson, Chair of ReConnectRondo and host. The event will also feature the first early-stage concepts and drawings to illustrate the themed directions that may be incorporated into this re-imagined addition to Rondo’s future, presented by HGA.

Background:

ReConnectRondo’s (RCR) is a community-based organization founded to explore the feasibility of a Land Bridge over I-94 to reunite and revitalize the historically black neighborhood of Rondo in St. Paul, Minnesota, divided by I-94 in the 1960s.

RCR’s goal is to persuasively shape transportation policy for the creation of the Land Bridge to create opportunities that uplift the public health, economic, housing and social conditions of these communities and ensure a higher quality of life.
