HGA engineers Joseph Witchger and Brendan Huss will present two programs at CampusEnergy 2020, highlighting new solutions and technologies in energy-efficient campuses and facilities.

The programs include:
Multi-Plant Predictive Optimization at UW, Madison
Speakers: Joseph Witchger (HGA), Brendan Huss (HGA), Jeffrey Pollei (UWM)
Location: Denver, Colorado
Date: February 13, 2020
Time: 11:45 A.M – 12:15 P.M.
The University of Wisconsin has four chilled water plants providing up to 75,000 tons of cooling to 23 million square feet of campus buildings. This presentation will discuss the challenges and preliminary results of a cost-reduction effort using predictive optimization to coordinate efficient operation of multiple plants under different utility rate structures.
Second Generation Heat Recovery
Speakers: Joseph Witchger (HGA), Brendan Huss (HGA), Paul Zmick (UVA)
Location: Denver, Colorado
Date: February 13, 2020
Time: 4:15 P.M. – 4:45 P.M.
The University of Virginia’s North Grounds Mechanical Plant expansion is doubling the area served. This program will discuss new analysis tools, the second-generation heat recovery system, and challenges in adopting University infrastructure standards and performance expectations to allow new materials.
