CANstruction

CANstruction is an event put on by AIA Wisconsin and Wisco NOMA where teams from architecture firms around Milwaukee present a design made out of any canned food items they want. One of the most recent themes was “I CAN Dream.” Our team chose to draw inspiration from the newly completed mural of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who we feel is the epitome of pursuing your dreams to the fullest. Our design used over 1,300 cans of food including tuna, green beans, corn, and Manwich. The event in total donated over 15,000 cans to the Jewish Community Center.

Mentorship

HGA's Milwaukee office, in partnership with other local area firms, started the inaugural Milwaukee chapter of The ACE Mentor Program. This organization's mission is to engage, excite, and enlighten high school students to pursue careers in architecture, engineering, and construction through mentoring and continued support for their advancement into the industry. Through weekly sessions, high school students are provided with a general education of the various careers available in the AEC industries and later sessions involve working on a final design project that is presented to all their peers and families at the conclusion of the program.

Social Impact Week unites HGA's offices across the country to participate in various days of service to celebrate the week, ranging from resource drives to park clean ups.
