Submission and Selection Process

  1. Applications are open! To apply, fill out this form and email it to Rachel Wotawa. Please apply by September 16.
  2. HGA Community Action committee will select proposals based on project feasibility. Organizations will be notified of their acceptance by no later than September 19, 2022.
  3. HGA Community Action committee will work to match HGA staff with organizations based on project type and expertise. A project kick-off meeting will be scheduled with both HA and the organization prior to the day of the workshop.

Community Design Workshop Participation

If selected, organizations will be asked to participate in the following ways:

  1. Identify a project coordinator to champion project and be lead contact person for organization.
  2. Identify project team members to participate in Community Design Workshop (two to three people).
  3. Participate in a one hour project kick-off meeting prior to the workshop itself. This can be done virtually or in person at the organization’s site.
  4. Participate in person at HGA or hybrid virtually on the day of the workshop on October 14th. Workshop attendees are encouraged to be on site all day at HGA or a hybrid in-person/virtual approach. Organization participants will be brought in and engage with the team throughout the day. There will be downtime for participants to work or take care of personal matters throughout the day. We encourage organizations to stay close and utilize our café space that has Wifi, coffee, tea, and espresso. HGA and organizations will present the work together at the end of the day to the rest of the workshop participants, HGA staff, and any invited guests.

Follow Up

HGA will provide groups with copies of all the work produced during the Community Design Workshop event. Organizations are in no way obligated to implement ideas generated by the Community Design Workshop event nor will HGA contact them following the Community Design Workshop unless the organization invites HGA to do so.
