Rachel Wotawa Wins Scholarship to Attend Healthcare Design Conference

Rachel Wotawa of HGA has won a Herman Miller Healthcare Scholarship to attend Healthcare Design Expo + Conference, held at the Phoenix Convention Center in Arizona, November 10–13, 2018. The scholarship allows Wotawa and other emerging professionals seeking licensure to attend seminars and meet with industry leaders from the architecture and healthcare profession.

Wotawa is a design coordinator in HGA’s healthcare practice group in Minneapolis. Her experience includes medical planning, architectural design, construction documentation, master planning, and Lean and evidence-based design for inpatient units, academic medical centers, and critical access hospitals. She completed a six-month student internship with HGA before joining the firm full-time in 2016. She has a Master of Architecture and Certificate in the Architecture of Health and Wellness from the University of Kansas.

Sponsored by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Academy of Architecture for Health (AAH) and Herman Miller Healthcare, the scholarship is part of Herman Miller’s continuing commitment to excellence in healthcare architecture and support of interns and young architects. The scholarship includes a stipend to offset conference registration, air travel, and lodging.

In addition to Wotawa’s attendance, HGA is presenting five programs at Healthcare Design Expos + Conference.
