In this session, presenters will explore how AI, WFH trends, and new programmatic drivers are reshaping traditional space planning metrics for life science laboratories. They will share insights on where industry trends are guiding scientific workplace metrics, drawing from the latest benchmarking data from a wide range of institutional and corporate campuses. This data is currently being used to inform space planning and analytics for the Broad Institute’s expansive one-million-square-foot campus.

Key discussions will focus on new inputs, processes, and space data definitions that extend beyond traditional assignable lab spaces to include off-site and WFH resources. Presenters will illustrate strategies to ensure the optimal fit and future adaptability of lab construction and renovation projects. Attendees will gain valuable knowledge on incorporating these innovative approaches to enhance flexibility and efficiency in their projects.
