Expanding Innovation Through Design
Virginia Dare, a premium extracts and flavors leader, consolidated operations in a new Carteret, New Jersey, headquarters. HGA transformed a precast warehouse into a dynamic facility, achieving co-location of departments, modern research labs, enhanced customer experience, and strong brand identity.
The design divided the double-height warehouse into two levels, creating welcoming areas and secure workspaces. It melded raw warehouse elements with refined sophistication, reflecting Virginia Dare’s “A Taste for Something Timeless” mantra. New windows allowed daylight throughout, while raw and refined materials created a professional environment incorporating natural product elements.
HGA balanced security with an open lab concept by organizing labs along a linear path with strategic viewing windows. Features include a double-height atrium, sculptural stair, showcase “flex” lab, and Customer Experience suite.
The design positions Virginia Dare for growth with multiple labs enabling expansion into new segments. The elevated customer suite invites collaboration, while subtle branding attracts talent and partners.
This consolidated headquarters streamlines efficiency from ideation to delivery, supporting Virginia Dare’s industry leadership and fostering innovation in a facility meeting current needs and future aspirations.
