Mayo Clinic - Siebens Education Building

Training Caregivers of Tomorrow

HGA has a long and trusted partnership with Mayo Clinic, having worked on thousands of projects at their Rochester campus and regional locations. This includes the original design for the Siebens Building for the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in 1987.

Since 2018, when the first phase of the current master plan was implemented on Siebens 12, HGA has been an integral part of transforming the Mayo Clinic Education shield at the Rochester campus. Multiple projects span five floors of the Siebens Building, preparing the College of Medicine to train the caregivers of tomorrow. The space program includes classrooms, student collaboration spaces, offices, shared workspaces, an alumni store, and a library. It also houses the Office of Diversity and the Office of Strategic Recruitment and Outreach, supporting the College of Medicine’s goal to increase the diversity of its student population and caregivers.

The activation of Siebens “Main Street” on floors 10 and 11, and the integration of the five schools with these six floors, aims to restore the Siebens Building as the “front door” for Education at Mayo Clinic Rochester.

Experiential classrooms include spaces for training in Nurse Anesthesia, Respiratory Therapy, Sonography, Physical Therapy, Radiography, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Neurotechnology, and First Surgical Assistant programs. Active learning, simulation, and virtual lecture spaces are enhanced by state-of-the-art AV/IT, designed in collaboration with HGA engineers and Mayo Clinic’s Media Production team.
