Allina Health System | St. Francis Medical Center Ambulatory Surgery Center
Enhancing Community Services
St. Francis Regional Medical Center enhanced its medical services through the creation of a community-focused Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), a unique collaboration between Allina Health System and Park Nicollet TRIA Health Partners. HGA employed a Lean-driven process to elevate patient and staff experience while seamlessly blending design direction from both providers.
The ASC is designed to serve the growing needs of the community with state-of-the-art medical services. The ASC includes two endoscopy suites and three operating rooms. A dedicated orthopedic ambulatory space complete with an Urgent Care orthopedic clinic and rehabilitation components complements the ASC. The operational flow within the ORs is designed to accommodate an easy expansion from three to four ORs, with additional prep, recovery, and PACU space. This flexibility ensures that the facility can adapt to increasing patient demand.
The team was challenged to blend design direction from Allina, TRIA, and Park Nicollet. The facility features branding for the Park Nicollet TRIA Orthopedic Clinic within the Allina ASC building, creating a story of collaborative yet distinguished interests.
HGA’s project delivery expertise ensured that construction costs were controlled amidst the inflation of the COVID-19 pandemic, creating a cost-effective new care facility to serve the community’s needs.
