The Center for Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathy Care at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is now open. Designed by HGA, the new outpatient clinic offers a reimagined patient and provider experience in a cutting-edge facility for the leading cardiovascular services provider in Massachusetts. HGA’s team was honored to participate in the renaming of Minneapolis, Minnesota’s historic Federal Office Building. Constructed in 1915, the landmark originally housed the post office and federal court and has since served various functions. Today, it is home to passport offices, the National Labor Relations Board, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Recently renamed the Paul D. Wellstone Federal Building, it honors the late U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone, carrying on his legacy of “standing up for the working people.” HGA collaborated closely with the General Services Administration staff to design a new building sign and corner address signs, reflecting the building’s Romanesque architecture and materiality. The monument sign features granite with bronze lettering and fluted granite edges, echoing the fluting on the building columns. An engraved quote by Paul Wellstone completes the sophisticated design: “We all do better when we all do better.” Learn more here.

HGA collaborated with Children’s Hospital New Orleans and the Ryan Seacrest Foundation in the design of a new Seacrest Studios for pediatric patients to explore radio, television, and new media. Walker’s Imaginarium, a child enrichment center planned for the hospital’s main campus in partnership with Kids Join the Fight, will host the first Seacrest Studios in the Gulf South and the only one in Louisiana. When complete, the glass-walled studio will be on the ground level of Walker’s Imaginarium and feature a DJ desk for interviewing special guests, a motorized green screen allowing patients to create and edit videos, and a “Wall of Fame” photographic display of celebrity guests and patients. The studio will connect live to the hospital’s inpatient rooms and virtually to other Seacrest Studios nationwide. The studio provides a creative outlet and a positive distraction to enhance healing for children receiving care at the hospital. Read more here.
