Revitalizing Spaces for Ministry Gathering

HGA partnered with New Hope Church to develop a comprehensive plan to address a number of ministry space needs. On their main campus, the church lacked space to house their Junior and Senior High Student ministries. Together, the church and the HGA design team identified an existing, underutilized gymnasium as an opportunity to create a flexible, vibrant ministry space for teens.

Windows were added to an exterior wall, and a new floor structure was inserted into half of the existing volume to create two levels of student space. The full height was preserved in the other half of the existing volume, providing space for student worship, teaching and recreation. A new, open stair and hospitality area create the social heart of the Student Center, and informal seating areas provide intimate settings for students to connect in small group discipleship activities.
