AgriBank
A Fusion of History and Innovation
Working with AgriBank on branding and environmental graphics, HGA created a sophisticated design that aesthetically recalls AgriBank’s 95-year history serving rural America farming communities while meeting modern workplace needs and efficiencies.
AgriBank has been a downtown St. Paul institution for over 30 years. Its highly educated, 185-person staff includes many leading financial experts who have dedicated their careers to AgriBank over the decades. Though the initial strategy included consideration of build-to-suit, renew in place or new leasehold, its commitment to St. Paul was clear. Wells Fargo Place, a Class A office building at the center of downtown St. Paul, was well suited to support AgriBank’s strategic image as a growing financial institution focused on client service. AgriBank’s move to Wells Fargo Place from its former home a few blocks away has provided an opportunity to showcase its roots in the community.
AgriBank moved into a new space in a multi-tenant building office building in downtown St. Paul. AgriBank’s data center was influenced by Tier 2 guidelines, the space available for the data center was located below a vehicle drive area. The HGA engineering team developed a solution that allowed for pre-installation of the electric feeders to minimize disruption to other building tenants, located the generator on-grade with extensive vibration mitigation features, and specified an architecturally hidden fuel fill point. To allow the generator to fit into the limited available space, remote radiators were selected and mounted on a low roof area of the high-rise building. The HGA architectural team designed a waterproofing system for the underside of the drive area to protect the data center equipment.
HGA crafted a sophisticated design that aesthetically recalls the bank’s 95-year history, its strong brand and unique culture, while meeting modern workplace needs and creating efficiencies. Interior planning encourages teamwork and cross-functional collaboration with open work environments and teaming stations—a fresh departure from the closed-door private offices of its former space.
