General Mills | Champions Center Main Street Renovation

New Amenities Foster World-Class Workplace

After the COVID-19 pandemic emerged in early 2020, General Mills engaged HGA to imagine improvements to their amenities building, the Champions Center, to prepare and encourage workers to return to a safer and reactivated campus. Improvements included a work lounge with various seating options to accommodate individual and collaborative work, a refreshed Caribou Coffee cafe, Aveda salon, fitness center and credit union; the addition of a Freshii grab and go cafe, and updated company store with improved flow and circulation and mobile order pick-up. To make the space equitable for all users, the gendered restrooms were renovated to all-gender restrooms and included the addition of a lactation room. Safety features included an assessment by HGA mechanical engineers of current air handling and HVAC systems for proper ventilation. Touchless technologies for door opening systems and faucets in restroom and several sinks were also installed.

HGA has partnered with General Mills for more than 25 years, providing ongoing planning, architecture, interior design, MEP and structural engineering services that have included more than 300,000 GSF of renovated space and 700,000 GSF of new construction.
