Event: Design Thinking and Lean Processes Improve Interdisciplinary Research Facility Project Outcomes

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear from thought leaders as they contrast three approaches for planning, design, project delivery, equity, and diversity in interdisciplinary research projects of various scales.

Future-facing interdisciplinary research initiatives bring with them a significant challenge: Designing scientific space for occupants yet-to-be-determined, while articulating and delivering a shared understanding of the project’s goals from the outset.

The presenters will take a deep dive into the UCSF Parnassus Research and Academic Building being delivered with a Progressive Design-Build method that includes more than 200 project stakeholders. They detail diverse unique user engagement techniques and illustrate when and how to apply them for optimal project decisions.
