HGA welcomes Kevin Wyrsch, AIA, NCARB, as Principal and Healthcare Practice Group Leader in the Boston office. Wyrsch will work with firmwide leadership, design teams, and business development to provide strategic direction for the group and work collaboratively with local partners to bring innovative solutions to leading healthcare systems throughout New England.
Wyrsch has more than 20 years of experience focused on healthcare planning and design for a range of project types, including inpatient, outpatient, radiology, laboratory, infrastructure, retail, and hospitality. He has led projects for clients, including Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston Medical Center, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, among others. His experience includes all phases of project development, from comprehensive planning and programming through design and construction, with an emphasis on high-performance building systems to expand environmentally responsible strategies.
“My passion for healthcare architecture stems from the simple philosophy that thoughtful design comes from a collaborative exchange of ideas and can make a meaningful impact on the human experience,” Wyrsch said. “This approach is grounded in the belief that challenges are not impediments but opportunities to develop solutions to succeed together. I’m excited to lead a team committed to innovation, collaboration, and exceptional client service.”
Wyrsch enjoys participating at conferences and webinars, and his presentations include “Enhance Energy Performance with Net Zero Design: Boston Medical Center Behavioral Healthcare Facility” at Healthcare Design Conference, and “Designing for an Aging Population: New Emergency Departments on Cape Cod” for the New England Healthcare Engineers’ Society (NEHES). He has lectured at the New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University and at Boston Architectural College and facilitated seminars and served as a student advisor at MGH Institute of Health Professions.
Wyrsch has a Master of Architecture from Boston Architectural College and a Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University.
