University College Dublin Science Centre Master Plan
Serving Student Community
Founded in 1908, Ireland’s preeminent public school moved to a park-like setting in Belfield in the 1950s. The Science Centre Master Plan addresses the future of science at the University by transforming the Science Centre into a world class, interactive facility.
The Master Plan, conducted by HGA and RKD Architects, Dublin, brought together several key objectives including organizing the Science Centre around key initiatives and shared platforms; populating the Centre as a science community that interacts on a day-to-day basis; using architecture to improve connectivity, transparency, and resource sharing; and having flexible facilities capable of responding to future growth.
