Health and Behavioral Sciences
The growing demand for health care practitioners is requiring colleges and universities to rethink their approach in Health and Behavioral Sciences education. These programs, which have historically been scattered throughout campuses, are now growing so quickly that they need their own environment. Co-mingled with 21st century pedagogy, this co-location allows for the development of real-world learning environments that demonstrate the interrelationship between professionals and para-professionals in health care services. The integration of this program increases synergy, cross-training, and efficient space utilization. As colleges and universities prepare to address the growing demand for these practitioners, they must also face the changing needs of health care in real time.
Based on the active learning models and immersive simulations, HGA’s design innovations have expanded the boundaries of healthcare education classrooms, skills labs, and simulation centers. The synergy between HGA’s practices in Higher Education, Health Care, and Work Place offer a unique understanding of how this curriculum responds to the rapidly changing role of health care professionals.
