Repositioning Retail Therapy for Healthcare

The Advanced Care Center was created through renovations to an existing one-story retail building from the 1960s. The resulting medical office building provides primary and specialty care, urgent care, imaging, and laboratory services.

We provided architecture and design services for the conversion of a big box facility into a new, state-of-the-art medical office building for Pinnacle Health. This project was completed using local subconsultants, in turn stimulating the local economy and adding over 75 new staff members.

The scope of work required the building shell to be upgraded to improve insulation in the roof and walls. The facility is set up with flexibility in mind for future growth throughout the building, including a surgery center and emergency care.

With new exterior finishes and interior fit-out, the building offers patients several medical services in one convenient location. The team also designed and built several cost-saving MEP systems, including: simple, efficient systems to reduce energy usage, high SEER RTUs for long-term, efficient use, dedicated cooling for the high-heat, imaging equipment, and occupancy sensors used throughout the building.
