The Arizona State University (ASU) Student Pavilion has won the Best Overall Project (Less than $100M) from the Architectural Engineering Institute.

The 75,000-square-foot building houses student government offices, classrooms, and a 1,200-seat event space. HGA teamed with Weddle Gilmore Black Rock Studio of Scottsdale, Arizona, to engage students from the start of the project, where they set goals to make the Student Pavilion the first Net Zero Ready building on campus.

To create a pathway to net zero, the design team prioritized energy efficiency to reduce demand through high-performance HVAC, plumbing, lighting, building envelope, and optimized plug loads.
