HGA Awarded 2017 EDRA CORE Award

The Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA) awarded HGA with a Certificate of Research Excellence (CORE) for the study “On-Stage/Off-Stage Clinic Design: Implications for Operational Efficiencies, Staff Collaboration and Privacy.” CORE recognizes rigorous, valuable, and impactful practice-based research that sparks innovation and promotes best practice in environmental design.

The CORE recipients will be recognized during EDRA48Madison May 31-June 3, 2017 in Madison, Wisconsin.

Purpose of the Study: To understand how an on-stage/off-stage and a linear clinic module differ in amount of staff-to-staff communicating; operational efficiency measured by distance, travel time, and patient throughput; and the patient perception of privacy.

Research Team: Kara Freihoefer, Ph.D., CID, EDAC, LEED ID+C; Len Kaiser; Dennis Vonasek, AIA, ACHA, CID; Sara Bayramzadeh, Ph.D., EDAC
