XL Construction

The HGA/XL design-build team used a transparent and innovative process to create a workplace that reflected the culture of XL and connected them to the surrounding neighborhood. The open office environment provides space for flexibility and collaboration with adjustable height workstations, collaboration tables between private work zones for impromptu conversations and shared project areas.

The centralized kitchen area and large conference room with a folding glass partition wall allows for gatherings and training while small conference rooms provide space for private meetings.
A large parsons table adjacent to the open kitchen provides amenities including a coffee station, hydration station, wine fridge, and all necessary AV capabilities for employees from other offices to set up and work.

Windows line two sides of the building providing natural light and a connection to the bustle of
R Street. Employee acquisition and retention is important to XL and our goal was to design for these employees as well as their clients.
