Texas A&M University - Commerce
Music Building
HGA designed the new 69,500 SF Music Building at Texas A&M University-Commerce to respond to the rapidly growing needs of the University’s music program. The building provides rehearsal spaces for choral, band and percussion, along with an 80-seat recital hall. The focal point of the project is a 500-seat concert hall which supports all of the music disciplines and strengthens outreach to the community. In addition, the new facility creates much-needed space for student practice, faculty studios, keyboard labs, classrooms and administrative offices.
The site for the Music School is at the main entrance to the campus and, as such, has become a defining landmark for the University. As a gateway building, the new facility raises the stature of the Music Department for both performance and education on campus and in the community.
