Museum Addition and Garden

Saint Louis, Missouri

The 200,000-square-foot addition to the Saint Louis Art Museum located within the historic Forest Park and site of the 1904 World's Fair will add galleries, public spaces, improved accessibility, and below-grade parking with green roof. Working in collaboration with French landscape architect Michel Desvigne and HOK of Saint Louis, HGA Landscape Architecture is incorporating a new public outdoor sculpture garden featuring the work of Alexander Calder, Mark di Suvero, Henry Moore, Claes Oldenburg, and Richard Serra. A dedicated bus/tour entrance will reduce traffic congestion and improve safety within the pedestrian-oriented garden for the thousands of school children who visit the Museum annually.

Completion is scheduled for 2014.
