Krista is an electrical engineer with more than 30 years’ experience specializing in healthcare electrical design. She understands how the electrical system must support the mechanical systems, life-safety systems, emergency power systems, medical technology and diverse spaces within a single building while taking into consideration the architecture and interiors of the space they serve.

Krista also has extensive experience with infrastructure upgrades and facility assessments and applies her knowledge of codes to real world design. Regarded as a technical expert, Krista is an avid presenter and author for national and regional conferences and trade publications.

Krista currently serves on the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70 National Technical Committee-Code-Making Panel 13, which serves as the principal consensus body responsible for developing and regularly updating the National Electric Code (NEC) articles pertaining to emergency power systems. She is a special expert for NFPA 99 Health Care Facilities Code Technical Committee on Electrical Systems (HEA-ELS) and serves on task forces for NFPA to evaluate implementation of microgrids and alternate energy sources. She is a member of the Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) guidelines committee for the Hospital Book and on the Alternate Care Facility task force. She is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) and served as the co-chair of their Equity, Diversity and Inclusion task force.
