Conference: CoreNet Global Summit 2018
Presenter: Melissa Jancourt
Date: October 17
Time: 8:30 A.M. – 9:30 A.M.
Experience. Convenience. Customization. These ideas underscore how today’s youngest workers, members of Generation Z, are redefining contemporary workplaces. At 70 million, Gen Z out-numbers their much-studied Millennial predecessors and will represent 20 percent of the American workforce by 2030.
Are you prepared for the entry of this new generation into the workforce?
Melissa Jancourt, Co-Director of HGA’s WorkSIGHT strategic planning group, joins industry experts Christina Banks, Director of Interdisciplinary Center for Healthy Workplaces at the University of California Berkeley Haas School of Business, and Caitlin DeClercq, Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center for Healthy Workplaces at the University of California Berkeley, in this national presentation on how Gen Z is reshaping the workplace.
Jancourt and co-presenters will review research conducted by UC Berkeley and HGA detailing how Gen Z’s unique characteristics translate into design principles and real estate strategies.
Through the sharing of recent research—including focus groups conducted in a Virtual Reality environment created by HGA’s Digital Practice Group—they will specifically highlight:
- Sociological information and research data that expands our understanding of what Generation Z values in workplace experiences, culture, and settings.
- Elements of corporate real estate and workplace design that help support these needs.
- Shifting demographics and associated workplace trends that affect current real estate and design decisions.
Jancourt is one of the nation’s leading experts on workplace strategy, advising clients from small start-ups to global corporations on the dynamics shaping the work environment. With HGA colleague and WorkSIGHT Co-Director Dave Paeper, she promotes a research-based approach to planning that reveals the unique goals of each client company within a broader social/demographic context.
Her recent research study, “National Workplace Forecast: Talent, Experiences, and Constant Change,” identifies three drivers shaping workplace strategies, which she will highlight in her presentation.
